It's been a while.
It's been a while since my last article. Just under a month.
I've been busy this month, which sounds like an excuse, but it has actually been hectic, and I even went to Tokyo to buy SS25 items.
However, this month marks the first anniversary of the opening of THE ELEPHANT OSAKA.
7/19.
In addition to launching two new brands, we rented a beer server and held a party with more upbeat music than usual and at a louder volume.
Many customers and friends came on the day, and although I felt bad that I wasn't able to talk to everyone thoroughly, I was really happy that we were able to toast with beer.
Thank you again to everyone who came.
I also wrote about this on my personal Instagram, but it was a day that made me realize that this is a shop that is truly loved by many people.
We were given champagne to celebrate and, needless to say, we got drunk and were rowdy. (My memory of the latter part is hazy, so I heard about it later.)
That's how powerful the party was.
As mentioned above, two new brands were launched at the party.
One of them is TSTS .
TSTS
The new brand, launched in earnest in the fall/winter 2023 season by designer Takuya Sasaki, who graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and pattern maker Yurie Izashi, has its official name, TAKUYA SASAKI TEST SAMPLES.
The “TEST SAMPLES” in the brand name comes from the “Experimental Test Sample” products that were developed and tested on a trial basis before being officially issued to soldiers, and represents TSTS' pioneering attitude towards creating clothing.
The brand's concept is "duality" and it develops collections that are humorous and socially critical, weaving a surreal atmosphere into the everyday life of Tokyo. While incorporating serious messages about social issues, the brand is committed to creating catchy designs that evoke the "joy of dressing up."
Designer Sasaki will also be present on the day of the party, allowing visitors to hear his voice directly and experience TSTS' items firsthand.
Another brand is CAMPERLAB
I will introduce CAMPERLAB in more detail next time.
This time, as the title suggests, TSTS
My first impression when I saw TSTS clothes was that they were interesting because they were all clothes I had never come across before. And also, they were simply catchy and adorable.
Sasaki graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, Belgium in 2016.
He released his graduation collection "SAMPLES" at that time and has now re-expressed it through the brand TSTS.
The clothes, created under the theme of "SAMPLES," or the duality of human nature, include a long-sleeved T-shirt and sweatpants with different colors on the front and back so that they can be worn either way, as well as a long dress cut-and-sew top, something that has not been seen much in men's clothing.
There are two types of long shirts with interchangeable collars and striped socks, many of which are already sold out.
The wide variety of punchy items have already captivated many customers at Elephant.
