Takahiromiyashita did not attend any fashion school; instead, he taught himself the art of garment making and founded the legendary cult brand NUMBER (N)INE in 1996. After presenting the brand’s final collection for Fall/Winter 2009, he left and subsequently dissolved the label.The following year, he launched TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist., marking a new beginning as a designer.
The name reflects the designer’s wish for every individual involved in fashion to possess the spirit of a “soloist” — an independent, solitary artist — while continuing to incorporate musical elements into his work.
Miyashita’s creations are distinctly urban, characterized by playful proportions and layered details reminiscent of musical notes. Each piece is meticulously constructed with carefully selected materials and exceptional tailoring, resulting in garments that embody both precision and emotion.
