PROTOTYPES

After working for five years as part of the early design team of VETEMENTS alongside the Gvasalia brothers, the founders of VETEMENTS, the designer launched the label PROTOTYPES in 2021. In the Spring/Summer 2023 collection, the brand held its first runway show at Paris Fashion Week.

PROTOTYPES taps into the dormant potential within. Rather than focusing on producing new garments, the brand emphasizes upcycling and reutilization strategies, presenting three key concepts: Second Life Line, Proto Packs, and Proto Prints. In the main line, deadstock fabrics and garments are used to create fashion, promoting a sustainable approach to the act of making and wearing clothes.

PROTOTYPES takes its brand name seriously, creating one-of-a-kind pieces that highlight personal expression and serve as an alternative to mass-produced, standard replicas. No two pieces are alike, and that is the idea.
