Last month I had a long vacation from work, so I went to the summer festival SUMMER SONIC and a Hikaru Utada concert and had a very fulfilling time.
Above all, Utada Hikaru is one of my favorite Japanese artists, so needless to say, the long-awaited concert was fantastic and I was thrilled to see her perform some of my favorite songs.
The most memorable thing was when Utada Hikaru bowed deeply to us, the audience, at the end of the concert.
Of course, most artists bow at the end, but Utada Hikaru bowed to the front, left and right for a full 15 seconds to express her gratitude.
(15 seconds conveyed in writing must be different from 15 seconds experienced in real life. It felt much longer during the concert.)
It may just be an ordinary scene, but to me it seemed incredibly beautiful and great to see someone who has been active at the forefront of the industry for 25 years since his debut giving a long bow and expressing his gratitude.
I learned that we should always be grateful and humble in everything we do. It may seem like a given, but I was reminded of this once again.
The day after that concert, I was overcome by a mysterious sense of loss and spent the whole day at home drinking beer.
Time flies and now it's September, and I'm amazed to think that there are only four months left in the year.
September is my birthday month, so there's something special about it, and many people look forward to the season of "autumn" more than anything.
With such perfect timing, a new brand was launched following on from the previous VAQUERA .
MARTINE ROSE
Martine Rose founded her eponymous label in London in 2007, and it has since evolved from a collection of meticulously crafted shirts into an internationally renowned, critically acclaimed brand.
She draws inspiration from her Jamaican-British heritage, her deep interest in music and her personal involvement with London's diverse populations and cultures.
Martine Rose's distinctive aesthetic is shaped by a study of proportion and silhouette, surprising textures and treatments, and her interpretation of subcultural contexts; her exploration of masculinity, the sexual edge of her collections, and her sensitivity to character and mood define her work.
There are probably few people who don't know of MARTINE ROSE.
I think there are many people who have bought it before, especially those who are serious about clothes.
Elephant will be carrying this brand for the first time from this season, AW 24, and we are sure you will love the clothes, which have a somewhat out of place nerdy vibe.
"SAME SAME" POLO NECK CREW
A thick, collared sweatshirt top that also appeared in this season's LOOK.
The emblem is typical of MARTINE ROSE's hometown of London, and features the emphasized message "SAME SAME."
The contrasting color collar makes it look like you're wearing a shirt underneath, and the striped ribbing gives it a playful feel, making it a very MARTINE ROSE item.
CLASSIC HOODIE
Hoodie with a large MARTINE ROSE logo printed on it.
Well, from this description it sounds like a pretty monotonous and basic item, but of course that's not the case.
Although it is indeed basic, "MARTINE ROSE" uses a reverse print to give the letters a worn, cracked look.
(And it's reversed with ROSE MARTINE and ROSE is the only one that's bigger. It's a strong assertion that it's not just a logodon.)
It's not a simple black, but a black with a strong fade.
The width of the garment is surprisingly narrow, so it's easy to wear without feeling self-conscious.
EXTENDED WIDE LEG JEAN
Trent's baggy denim. The length is quite long and the hem gathers nicely.
The washed blue goes well with any item.
As you can see, this denim has a lot of ®️ printed on it. Is it a registered trademark mark or the R for MARTINE ROSE? Either way, it's a design that flies wet.
CLASSIC SHIRT
Personally, my favorite was the shirt.
It's made of 100% VISCOSE, which is smooth to the touch and has a strong luster, and has a classic pattern just like the product name. And the sexy pink color really brings out the quality of the material. Sexy.
WIDE LEG TRACK PANTS
The CLASSIC HOODIE introduced earlier goes with the matching sweatpants.
This pair of shoes also has a nice balance of a loose silhouette and faded black, giving it a nerdy look that is well suited to fashion.
You can drag it around or wear it in bulk.
MOTOCROSS SCARF
Lastly, there are small items such as scarves.
This item features a sporty motorcycle design and the blue colour makes it a great accent piece for mid-winter outerwear.
Thankfully, the caps sold out in the same day, showing the potential of MARTINE ROSE. I definitely recommend getting these kinds of accessories as soon as possible.
There are still more items to come in the second delivery, so I think this is a brand that makes fashion really fun.
Personally, I have a strong admiration for the city of London, and I would like everyone to experience MARTINE ROSE's nerdy, sarcastic worldview that is so typical of Britain.
If you don't focus on autumn and winter items, you'll be left behind. Look a little further ahead.
